Edsel Ford Webb, 82, of Hahira died Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Langdale Hospice House. He was born in Clyattville on October 5, 1926 to the late Robert Lee and Dovie Mae Sumner Webb and was a lifelong resident of Lowndes County. Mr. Webb was retired from the United States Navy and auto part salesman with McGahee-Speight in Valdosta. He was a Mason, Shriner and a member of the Valdosta T's and the American Legion. He loved fishing, camping and the Atlanta Braves. Survivors include three daughters and a son in law, Jean Webb Alexander of Marietta, Jan Webb Roberts and Warren Roberts, Jr. of Columbia, SC. and Joyce Webb Crown of Orangeburg, SC., his grandchildren, Lisa Alexander McLeroy and her husband, William M. McLeroy of Acworth, Jennifer Alexander Hardy of Marietta, Warren Roberts, III of Missoula, Montana, Julie Roberts Wiggins and her husband, Adam Wiggins of North Augusta, SC., Stephen Crown and his wife, Amy Crown of Orangeburg, SC. and Holly Crown of Georgetown, SC., two great grandchildren, Anna Elizabeth McLeroy of Acworth and Samantha Brooke Wiggins of North Augusta, SC., two sisters, Robbie Mae Webb Stubbs and Mary Webb Crosby both of Valdosta, one brother, Dovall Gene Webb of Valdosta, sister in law, Marie S. Webb of Hahira, a special friend, Peggy Exum of Adel, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Myers Webb and a brother, Willie Lee Webb. Graveside services will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Riverview Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Phillip Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, P. O. Box 1727, Valdosta, GA 31603-1727.
