I personally did not know Eddie but I was touched by his story and saw the movie based on him. My heart is completely broken for the family. No one deserves to go the way he did. My deepest condolences to his family and friends! Your legacy will forever live on

My brother was good friends with Eddie they would hang out and I was friends with Pearl back in school days and met Eddie a couple of times. He was so sweet. I never knew Gwen or her family, but I have an online friend who lives in the area and told us about her so very untimely and heartbreaking death.

I want to cry from grief that such a thing has happened and from awe at the strong, shining love of the family of Gwen, Eddie, however each of you holds her or him in your heart. I send my respect and condolences.

I did not know you, but you touched my heart in a way that very few people can. As a long-time resident of Newark, I can say that what happened to you both angered/and hurt me greatly. I only hope that your suffering will benefit others in the future who experience the same type of unnecessary pain.
