Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry for your family's loss.
Dr. Asmus is the one special professor I will never forget from Boise State University.
He gave me hope that my education was more than a degree. Finally, someone who inspired me to do better. With Barry's help I was doing well in his class but was struggling with my 13 year old brother's fight against cancer. I failed an examine so Dr. Asmus called me into his office and asked what was going on. I explained my brother didn't have long to live....

Hi Mandy and my deepest sympathies and prayers for your loss. Barry was truly one of a kind and I considered it a privilege to have known him. Between Young Life Committee, Scottsdale Bible and just life, I always will remember him as a lover of Christ, people and of course you and your family. His humor, intellect and passion for life will always be a bright and loving memory to me. Blessing and prayers to you and your family. He will be missed but take joy in knowing he is with the Lord and...

Dear Asmus family, I am shocked and saddened to read Barry's obituary this morning. May comfort be with your family.
Our families grew up together in Fort Morgan, went to the same church and a lot of family functions together.
I am very heart broken, God's Blessings to you and your family.

Wow, what a shock. Barry and I were fraternity brothers back at CSU, and friends as well. We played golf a few times at a little par 3 near Northglenn (scrapped for a shopping center) - Barry was very good, I was very bad, but we had fun. I remember cruising in his Ford Fairlane Retractable car at CSU. The girls loved it and in the winter, Barry would put the top down, and they would throw snowballs at people and things. We nicknamed Barry "The Snowman"...

My condolences are extended as you mourn the loss of your dear loved one. May you find comfort and strength to cope during this trying time. (Psalm 90:10)

I'm so sorry for your family's loss, may you draw close to our loving God by reading his word, where you can find comfort in the hope that of seeing our loved one again in a beautiful new paradise home here on earth. Psalm 115:16-- Psalm 83;18

I remember Barry from attending Scottsdale Bible Church. He was a shining example of the true Light of God and was an inspiration to us all. He will be missed by so many. My heart is broken seeing this.

Our prayers are with you as you greive. But rejoice, for great will be the reunion on the other side. Now he walks streets of gold that match Dr Asmus' glimmering personality. He was a mentor to me in the TLT program at SBC, and left a tremendous impact on my life. He is missed very much!

Barry was one of the greats. The world was definitely a better place with Barry in it. He will be missed by me and so many others.
