Edward Crockett Bankston

Edward Crockett Bankston - age 58 of Knoxville, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Ed lived his entire life in Knoxville and was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Knoxville. He graduated from West High School and the University of Tennessee School of Architecture. While at U.T. he was a member of Phi Kappa Alpha social fraternity and was currently an advisor. He was a practicing architect at the time of his untimely death and active in the architectural community, serving as the immediate past president of the Construction Specifications Institute. Ed was predeceased in death by his father, Dr. Floyd N. Bankston. He is survived by his devoted and loving family: his son, Steven Crockett Bankston and daughter, Madison Bayless Bankston; his mother, Charlotte Hamlet Bankston; and his brother Paul and wife, Kristi Bankston and his sister, Jane and husband, Tim Byess. He also leaves many loving nieces and nephews: Cynthia and Seth Scarpa and their three children, Banks, Charlotte Blair, and Milly; Newman and Julie Bankston and their four children, Emelia, Oliver, Celia, and Lucy; Lissa Bankston, CharlotteAnne Byess, and McClain Byess. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel to travel in procession to Woodlawn Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service officiated by Reverend Dave Ward.
