Not sure what to say?

Dear Joan,
I was out of town when Ed died. I just wanted to express to you my Christian sympathy. I knew Ed for over 30 years even before I came to teach at Calvin College.

I believe that you lived across the street from my son Chirs on Woodduck when you and Ed were dating.

My God grant you his Shalom in this time of sorrow.

Joan and family,
You have our deepest sympathy in the passing of your husband and father.
Joan, I can still picture you both at Calvin College games so happy and feeling so blessed by God to be able to share your lives together and blend your two families. May the God that Ed so faithfully served provide you with strength and comfort as you now live life this side of Heaven without him. Our hearts ache for you! Yet we have the hope of a Heavenly reunion one day—with our Lord and with...

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss and extend my sympathy. While I never knew Ed, I always appreciated him as he was a great mentor to my daughter Heidi. His kindness has also lived on through you as you have shown it to me when I was ill. My prayers are with you and your family.

Mrs. Berends: We have never met personally, however we have known Ed for a number of years thru the insurance industry. May God's blessings be with you and the entire Berends family during this time of your loss and the days ahead.

Dear Joan & Family: We both send our condolences to all for your loss. We have never met, but through your son, Aaron, we know that Ed was a wonderful man. There is much respect and love for him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. God bless.

Joan, I am so sorry for your loss. I met you a few years ago at the Whitecaps game and thought how blessed Ed was to have found someone so kind to spend his life with. I've known Ed for many years while I worked for Hartford Ins. Ed was probably the most gracious agency principal I called on. His business ethics followed his faith - it was a blessing to know him.
