Dear Jennifer - I was very saddened to learn of Ed's recent passing. He helped me through some difficult times a decade ago and I have always appreciated his skill, compassion, honesty and sense of humor. Dear Jennifer, my wife Jane and I lived next door to you and Ed for many years , but this being America, often neighbors don't speak, and we respected it and didn't want to intrude. We only recently found out that Ed is very sick via Phil Karchman, that Jane knows. We read the obituary and feel that it was a missed opportunity, we have so much in common. It was great being a Penn basketball fan with Ed and Jen, as well as FB political views. (Sorry to have missed the wine.) He was a gentleman and a scholar in all the good ways.
