Waters Funeral Home - Concord Obituary

Edward J. Blackman, 69, of Loudon, NH was born September 6, 1955, and passed away November 9, 2024 with his family by his side.

He is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Beatrice Blackman and his brother, Charles Blackman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Melinda R. Blackman, his son Charles E. Blackman, daughter in law Sara D. Blackman, grandson Charles “Chickie” J. Blackman, his daughter Darla E. Klanderud and granddaughters Eva M. and Giana G. Klanderud.

Ed was the proud owner and operator of Ed Blackman Construction for 35 years. As a lifelong hard worker, retirement was largely spent on the Ridge, where he devoted countless hours mowing their large lawn, cutting trees, splitting wood, and feeding the woodstove to his heart’s content.

He didn’t like to stray far from home, but when he did, he’d bypass the “Big City” and “take his bride for a ride”, often leading them to Vermont to see beautiful country and old friends.

He had a heart of gold and loved helping people out when he could, and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In Lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity.

A Mass of Christian Burial at Christ the King Parish in Concord at 10 AM Friday November 15, 2024, followed by a private burial in Marlborough, MA.
