He was a great man. He was run over by a tank and almost lost his legs in WWII in the Philippines. After rehabilitation at a hospital in Germany, he resumed his baseball dream and had a fabulous and successful long career in professional baseball, including in the MLB with the Cincinnati Reds and with the Kansas City Athletics. Catching up 15 years later, I had a son die in 2023 at age 47. I cherish the memories that 67 people posted, on Legacy, so I vowed to go back and post to those good friends who have passed. I lived across the street from Ed in Loisel Village in the 1960´s and he invited me to give me pitching tips when I was playing at Assumption. He was a good and patient mentor. RIP,Ed!
