I always loved Ed´s dry sense of humor. He was an excellent cross country skiing companion and I enjoyed our chess games together. He is missed.

I remember Ed as one of my dad´s best friends. They shared a lot: working together as architects, playing tennis, finding hole in the wall spots for lunch. My dad always came back with a smile on his face after seeing Ed. Ed brought humor, adventure, creativity and kindness into my dad´s life; he made it bigger and happier. We all recognized that the friendship was special. I´m so grateful for Ed´s presence in my dad´s life, and am so very sorry for your loss.

We are so sorry to hear the news of Ed's passing. We met Ed and Katie as Grand Rapids Audubon members years ago. His wit and dry humor brought a breath of fresh air to the sometimes tedious Audubon board meetings, bringing us to tears with laughter. We never realized that his interests and accomplishments were so many, diverse and amazing...truly a renaissance man. We were so lucky to have known him. Our heartfelt condolences to Katie and family. We all will miss him.
