Not sure what to say?

Only excellent memories of, and great respect for Ed during my 16 years at Continental.

My sincere sympathy to the family. Mr. Bottum was a wonderful mentor to me during my years at Continental Bank.

I was so sorry to hear of Ed's death. It is another piece of the legacy of CINB that will be missing. While most as myself have gone on to new sucess, the memories linger on.

I am Ed's classmates at HBS. I tried to call today to congratulate Ed on his election to board chairman of UL, but I had the wrong number. Later today I received an e-mail from Jane McLagan notifying me of his sudden death. What a tragedy for his entire family. Pleasse accept these condolences from his many friends in HBS '59.

Joyce, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. The summers Ed spent on Uncle Sheldon's farm brought fond memories.

Blessings from
Alice (Bottum) Kaye and family

I feel as if I have lost someone special and important. Growing up across the street from the Bottums added to my life in intangible ways -- Mr. Bottum had a presence that was unavoidable, much as I might have tried at times to shy away when I was up to no good. I am honored to have been present for the memorial service and to listen to the heartfelt words of Sam, Carroll, John and Roger. It brought back a flood of memories and I am still sitting with them, as I'm sure I will be for some...

Ed's infectious sense of humor and warmth hovers over Pentwater. He sent an email on the 22nd describing his morning walk on the beach. We will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Fran Johns and Angelo Kokkino

I am deeply saddened to learn of Ed's passing. He was a warm, thoughtful, personable and caring man of principle. He touched many people and made the world a better place. What a wonderful legacy. Bruce and Fanchon Simons

Joyce,
My sincere condolences. I knew Ed mostly as the Chairman of the Ravenswood Board, but got to know him even better thanks to your help when we "roasted" him upon his retirement as Board Chairman. He was a wonderful man with a real sense of dedication to Ravenswood -- as well as to many other causes.
