Edward J. Byrne

Ed was a mentor of sorts as I began a career in broadcast journalism. He and I spent many an evening covering Common Council meetings, during which he filled me in on personalities and how the council operated. His guidance was always appreciated. We worked together again at Zogby writing and analyzing survey results. We never agreed politically, but we never let that stand in the way of sharing a good joke.

I knew Ed and he was a very caring individual who helped so many during his career as a journalist and as City Administrator for the City of Utica. As a New York State Senate assistant and right-hand man to the good NYS Senator James H. Donovan. Ed helped so many people, businesses and educational institutions.
