Ed hired me in the IBM Akron office in 1972. Not only was he a wonderful manager but also a kind and caring man. Although I had not had the pleasure of seeing Ed for many years I often thought of him. He was a special man who will always hold a special place in my heart. God Bless you Ed and family. Ed Carrier was my first manager at IBM. I was blessed to have such a fine gentleman as my mentor. He set the bar high for character, work ethic and loyalty. He and Marjorie always made everyone feel welcome. The Carrier family are in our thoughts and prayers.

In 1976 Ed promoted me from the IBM Akron office to Marketing Training in Dallas. A very few years later, holding the same position in Dallas that Ed did, I was able to promote another deserving person from the Akron Office. The first time I saw Ed was at an IBM Family Dinner. He was the consummate IBMer with pocket watch, chain and IBM blue suit. Years later we worked together and I have always cherished his friendship. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

My deepest condolences to the Carrier Family. I worked with Ed at IBM in Akron for about 14 years. He was a member of a very elite class of professional gentlemen. I considered him a friend back then and hope he did me. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult hour.
