I had the honor and privilege of being Ed's colleague at UGA for many years. He was THE BEST. We are all grateful for his many years of work and leadership in making ours one of the best marine sciences program in the world. My brother-in-arms Ed was a late life inspiration to me. With an incomparable dignity and a fathomless concern for his "buddies", Ed led in his quiet yet serious and impactful way.
