What a great person who added so much to those he touched in happy friendship. Our world will miss his stories and that smile that crinkled around the eyes. Rest on, Ed!

I knew Eddie at La Grange in Lake Charles. He was a great guy and obviously grew to be a great man. Condolences to his family and many friends.

Ed was a good man. And he was a good lawyer. The wonderfully written and touching obituary summed up Ed´s legal legacy perfectly: he used "his law degree to make the world a better, fairer place." My heartfelt condolences to Betsy and to all of Ed´s family.

We have always admired Ed for his commitment to justice. Ed was part of a special breed of legal services lawyers that were inspirational for many of us and made a world of difference and was a positive force for good. He will be missed by many, and our heart goes out to his family and friends. Our sincerest condolences. Jonathan & Paula Vickery

When I was newly elected Secretary Treasurer of the Dallas AFL-CIO, Ed was the VERY first person I met. His devotion to working families and labor principles was legendary within the labor movement. He served for many years as a steady guiding hand within our organization. He will be missed.

He was such an inspiration to my family. He will be missed. He always fought for right Betsy I will always always have you in my heart. Love Kay Thompson/Butler
