Not sure what to say?

I remember one time I had to go in front of judge cottingham have heard a lot about him and I was scared to death but it all worked out well and I send My condolence, he was a great man I just recently found out that he had passed I didn't know..really not sure what to say may he rest in peace.

Judge Cottingham was one of the best trial court judges not only the state of South Carolina, but in the nation. I cherish the years I spent as his law clerk. He taught me invaluable life lessons and was truly one of the wisest, and most intelligent individuals I have ever met.

Judge Cottingham meant so much to me. He made me a better lawyer, especially as a trial lawyer. His knowledge of law combined with his abundant common sense and overwhelming sense of fairness are sorely missed. I think of him often and enjoy sharing anecdotes with all. I miss him. I shall never forget him.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

He was an excellent judge and a fine man. I appeared before him many times. I certainly didn’t try, but i saw others: he’d seen it all, you couldn’t put anything past him.

Having had the privilege of practicing before Judge Cottingham, I am sorry to hear of his passing. He was a gentleman and a scholar and an asset to the Bench and Bar. May warm memories bring comfort to his family now and evermore.

What a dear man! I so enjoyed knowing him at Still Hopes. Thankful our paths crossed there. We had many good times at the many activities he took part in. I will always think of him in his Uncle Sam costume reciting his Patrick Henry speech at the patriotic events we held. His stories entertained us well on the bus as we traveled on trips that he truly enjoyed. A life well lived and the fine example of integrity he set for all who knew him. Blessings on all the family.

I thought of Ed many times over the years. Katherine Easterling Littlejohn caught me up on him from time to time. What a remarkable life! Love to the family, Betty Sue
