Howe-Peterson Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Dearborn Obituary

Edward Arnold Crider, of Taylor, Michigan, passed away May 1st, 2018 in the care of his loving family.

Beloved husband to Carol for 69 enchanting years.
Proud father of Corbett (Gerry), Gail (Bill) Holbrook, Paul, Christy (John) Glenn, and Joseph.
Dearest grandfather of 17, great-grandfather of 18, and great-great-grandfather to 2.

Edward was a dedicated man to his family, his community, and his religion. He served as pastor at Taylor Emmanuel Baptist Church for 54 meaningful years. He always found time to spread spirituality to those in need at nursing homes and to teach the good word at schools. An avid fisherman, he'd often take trips to Algonac and other local rivers to cast out his line and relax. Edward was never one to hold a grudge and became easy friends with those he met. His heart was so big with love for his family, friends, and community. He will surely be missed by so many.

Services will be held privately.

My prayers to the family to continue the wonderful legacy of Pastor Crider.

So grateful to have a grandpa that shared truth. I'll never forget his message on Putting Feet to Your Prayers. It will forever be remembered. He was truly the most gentle loving man who endured many things to just simply love others. This should be our legacy....endure much for the sake of loving others.

Thank you dad for being the man you were! A man that loved God and the message you preach on the love of Christ and what he did for us on the cross of Calvary. Thank you for showing His love to those who needed help, love and compassion. I will miss you but have comfort in knowing you are with our Lord and I will see you again when God calls me home. I'll look for you at Jesus's feet when I get there, because that's where I will be too!

I'm so thankful that as a young man God put a man in my path. A perfect man , no, but a man that loved God and dedicated his life to the preaching of Gods word. A heart as big as a bus and always would go the extra mile to help a stranger. I remember many times ,though ridiculed by those closest to him, a stranger would call from some dirty hotel needing money, gas or groceries. Not having much and never saying no, he would take what he could, knowing it was a chance to share the Gospel....

Thanks for being my dad, I'm glad you were there for you and moms anniversary that was cool pop, you watch over mom from heaven,I'll take care of her here she's in good hands , I just wish I could have taken you fishing one more time.

PopPaw was an Amazing Man. He did so much for everyone that came into his life. He was A great mentor, Pastor, friend, and best yet My Grandpa. I'll miss him Dearly. It Sucks knowing you're gone. But I will Say. It was such a Pleausre that I had you in my life for the 30 years. Rest Easy In Heaven PopPaw. I know you're happy now and not Suffering. Love you
