Sadler Suess Funeral Home - Telford Obituary

Edward F. Cunnally, 82, of Green Lane PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Cedar Crest in Allentown, PA.

He was the beloved husband for 52 years to Mary (Taran) Cunnally.

Born in Boston, MA at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edward was a son of the late Edward Henry and Frances Dorothy (Monahan) Cunnally.

Edward served the U.S. Army in the Signal Corps. He went on to work at The Philadelphia Inquirer as a Typesetter, eventually earning Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Temple University. After graduating, Edward taught Graphic Arts at the North Montco Technical Career Center, having dedicated many years of service.  He also volunteered at the Missionaries of Charity’s Soup Kitchen in Norristown for over twenty years.

A voracious reader, Edward spent many evenings reading Military history books and Civil War history books. He cherished knowledge and was always striving to learn more. In his spare time, Edward enjoyed photography, woodworking, and watching movies. He was also immensely proud of his Irish Heritage, but more than anything else, Edward was a very devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He so enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Mary, Edward is survived by a son, Edward Cunnally and his husband Nick of Clifton, NJ; daughter Mary Frances Cunnally of Collegeville, PA; grandchildren Michael, Isabella, Mia, Kate and Ryan; a brother, John Cunnally and his wife Ruthellen Cunnally of Ames, IA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:00 PM on Monday April 22, 2024, at St, Agnes Catholic Church. 445 N. Main St. Sellersville, PA. 18960.  Family will receive friends from 3:00PM until the time of Mass at the Church. Interment with Military Honors will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Resurrection Cemetery. 5201 Hulmeville Road. Bensalem, PA. 19020.

Not sure what to say?

Ed was my printing teacher back in the mid 90's at tech school. I am grateful to have so many memories of our shenanigans in class, as well as his teachings that started the career I am still in 30+ years later. He was kind and always made us laugh. I was recently given the Christmas ornament (that he made for all of us) for our classmate and friend John Evans, who passed away from cancer back in 2013. It of course brought back many memories of all of us in class. Rest easy old friend, you...

I am so sorry for the loss of your Husband, Dad, Gradfather, and Brother. May the special memories you made together help you through this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Met Ed at the cardio gym several years ago. Had good discussions about many things. Great guy

So sad to learn of your loss
I remember Ed as soft spoken, kind with and easy smile
Know that you are all in my prayers.

So very sorry to learn of this. Prayers for peace and comfort. Remembering family dinners of yore in Philly. Ed always seemed welcoming and warm. Sending our love. Treasure the memories. God bless. Lee and Cricket

Ed was such an amazing co-worker and teacher. When I started at North Montco, he provided so much direction and guidance to make my job more manageable. We also served on the Parent Teacher Committee together. He was always so happy when he returned to the school to continue to share his knowledge with the younger generations after he retired. He will be deeply missed! My condolences to Mary and family.

Mary and family, we are so sorry for the loss of Ed. We will keep all of you in our prayers
