I am very sorry to learn of Ed's passing. Our connection was Dorchester and hockey. I remembered him playing for Christopher Columbus HS in the Met League on Friday nights in the Boston Arena. We later played in pick-up hours at different rinks. The next and final stop for me with Ed was playing on the Warriors on Monday Nights in Cohasset at the Winter Gardens and later in Hingham at Pilgrim Arena. Ed was known for being a strong skater. Ed Curran was a Prince among men. He was always courteous and kind, a true gentleman. Ed was a great father and his sons are an example of Ed's goodness and generosity. He and I became friends since our boats were moored in the creek near each other. And Ed had a passion for sailing which I appreciated. I recall seeing him prepping his boat to weather a September hurricane. I was doing the same. Others were pulling their boats out, but Ed and I decided let's sail until November... this storm...
