I do not believe that he is no longer here. I have watched for him and his work for my whole life mtime; having known Ed and being with him at SMU.
He was a musical phenomenon in college. He accompanied many of our sorority competition performances. He eas in the "Folk Art Dociety with many of us who loved music, singing, playing guitar and piano.

Ed Dato was truly a warm person, and oh so smart. He and I worked together off and on in music projects, and even a minor architecture project, for over a decade, in San Francisco and further north in Sonoma County, California.
In all our many interactions I never saw, or even heard of, Ed being anything but of good nature, kind, and with a sly wit. And when it came to music, as both of us had dedicated our lives to, along with many, many other of his friends — Ed was again the best. ...
