Not sure what to say?

I was a groundman for Seaford Schools in the early 1970's. Mr. Davey gave a bottle of liquor to every grounds person each Christmas thanking them personally for keeping the grounds beautiful. I was 19 and this was my first Christmas bottle ever received and on my way home I dropped it in the driveway. I will remember Mr. Davey as a person who took the time to care for even the smallest in the chain of life.

As a former student of Seaford Junior High School, I have fond memories of Ed. As the President of the Statesman Society, I had the privledge of organizing and moderating a debate between Assembleyman Milton Jonas and his two opponents. Within two days after the debate, I received a warm thank you letter from Ed. He was a great man, educator and friend. Eric Budowsky, Bellport, New York

Ed was the Assistant Principal when I came to Seaford as a 7th grade student at the Seaford Avenue School in September of 1953and continued as an Assistant Principal until I graduated in 1959. When I came back to student teach at Seaford Jr. -Sr High School, which was against Adelphi Colleges' regulations, an exception was made since the head of student teaching knew Ed. I was then hired to take my cooperating teacher's, Mr. Fiore's , place as he left at the end of my student teaching...

I first was introduced to Ed Davey as a youngster at picnics at Valley Stream State Park along with the Davey, Bergen and Buckley families. At that time, I actually was his base-runner in the softball games. Later, he was my mentor as I tried to follow in his footsteps as an administrator at Seaford Junior High and High School. It was, indeed, an honor to be associated with him in such a meaningful capacity.
GOG BLESS him and his wonderful family.
Ray Buckley
