Not sure what to say?

My papa you are still missed so much. I'm happy you reunited with Noni. You're always in my heart!

Eddie and I knew one another, shared the trails, many lifetime experiences, and even carpooled to hikes quite frequently for at least the last 15 years of his life! I'll always consider Eddie to have been one of the mentors in my life - - - his teachings were by his examples! My calendar actually precedes this website's notices since the guy who introduced me to AMC's Southeastern Massachusetts Chapter, DCR's "Trail Watch" in the Blue Hills Reservation, and so much more. He will always be...

Eddie. A Friend to All

Eddie came into my life on the AMC walks and became a very dear and close friend. He was always there for me when I needed a true friend. We explored many trails together, followed by lunch and stories about his life experiences. I taught him how to play different games, but he got hooked on Yahtzee. I will treasure our times together and will miss Eddie very much. My heart and prayers go out to his loving family who is dear to me.

My sincere and deep sympathies go out to Eddie's family and friends. I have so many fond memories of our DCR hikes as well as the personal Ponkapoag Pond treks that Eddie and I would do. The two photos (shown separately) were taken by me when I had thoughts of doing an Eddie DeSantis biography for the AMC magazine, "Outdoors". However, the Patriot Ledger had begun a series of articles and a video about Eddie, and the CCC, and the DCR. My thought was, that's plenty of publicity for one...

I always looked forward to seeing Eddie on Blue Hills hikes. Everyone was always happy to see him. I even cancelled my classes to be there for his 90th birthday hike. He was probably the most beloved person on our AMC Local Walks - a charmer, a philosopher, a mensch, and an all-around great human being.

A great hiker with a and a true trail friend

Papa,
You were the oldest & wisest, the core of 5 generations in our family. A man of great character, intellect, wit and love who had an amazing life journey. I will always remember your smile and your lessons, and I will cherish the memories of our times together. We love you very much and will miss you deeply XOXO
