Not sure what to say?

Ed was my first conductor and inspiration when I started in music as a boy Soprano in the Cathedral of Saint Joseph four part male choir. It was his inspiration that started me on to a career as a music educator. I am who I am because of Ed. Last saw him at his 90th Birthday celebration at Hartt and I am so glad I had the opportunity to thank him. I know I am but one of many who got their starts under Ed's tutelage. Thanks again Ed. You are missed!!

I had the pleasure of knowing Ed as my Electronics Music professor (1970's) and then as a colleague at UHartford. Despite the overwhelming pace of technology growth, Ed embraced these changes and applied them to his fantastic repertoire of delightful compositions. As a winner of the Larsen Award for Teaching Excellence (the University's highest) Ed made an indelible, positive impression on so many students, including me. Peace to you, my friend.

Su and I find it hard to find enough adjectives to describe this fine, kind and generous man. My wonderful colleague for many years, I have had the pleasure of performing his music and dining with him and Ellie in their home, where we had the most wonderful intellectual discussions. His children have been so blessed to have been reared by this outstanding couple, where love and support was always so evident. There is no doubt that the world is less well off with Ed's absence. But he will...

Few lives are as accomplished as yours. Rest in peace, my old friend.

On behalf of President and Head of School, Christian Cashman, I offer my deepest sympathy on the passing of Edward Diemente. Ed, along with his children Deborah Diemente '68, Eric Diemente '70 and Greta Diemente Sibley '75, is a valued member of the Northwest Catholic community, so we mourn his loss along with all who love him. Please know that we will remember Ed and his entire family in a special way at our next school-wide Mass. We are very sorry for your loss. ~ Jane Leary, Director of...

A delightful man with a wonderful sense of humor. It's been many years since I last saw Ed but remember him fondly from Hartt College of Music.

Uncle Ed was a remarkable man, husband and father. He leaves a truly important legacy as a musician, composer and, perhaps most importantly, teacher. He and Aunt Eleanor always welcomed us to their home and never failed to share their love, laughter, wonderful stories and a place for all at the table. As the last of his generation, he added greatly to the fabric and texture of the Diemente and Marchesseault families. He will be greatly missed. Our sincere sympathy to all of Uncle Ed's...
