I knew Ed a long time ago. We grew up together on Montauk. I substituted for him on his Cleveland Press paper route and took over the route when he gave it up. Ed was a good friend through junior high and into early high school. At that point we grew apart since he was 2 years older and we went to different high schools. I have many fond memories of our friendship.
I was surprised to see Ed in 2007 at my brother Russ's funeral. The effort to stop by was very much appreciated. I...
