Not sure what to say?

Ruthanne and Sons,

Randy and I have appreciated your regular updates regarding Ed's state of health and the opportunity and blessing it gave us to be able to pray with you for strength and healing. Ruthanne, I have been amazed to see how those prayers were answered in the way you were able to walk through this challenging time with so much grace and strength. You have been a wonderful model and example for all of us. I hope and pray for the Lord's continued blessing, especially...

I am so sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to lose a father. Ed was a great man who taught me a lot about scouting and life. I have so many great memories of him as one of my Boy Scout leaders with John and Tim. My dad also thought very highly of him and I am sure they are reminscing together in heaven now and having a better time than ever!

Dear Dunn Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Eddie Dunn was an old friend of mine and I'm sorry that I will be unable to attend the visitation or the funeral due to my own health problems. You are in my prayers and God be with you all.

This is a pretty meaningful piece

Ed you will be missed by all the Scouts that you have helped. I enjoyed being your friend. Save a place for me, I know you are with our Savior.

Ed was a special man who withstood far more than most people. I'm glad he passed easily, if far too soon, but the hole he leaves will never fill. May his family find comfort in memories once the grief has passed. Hold tight to one another and keep his flame burning in your hearts.

To the Dunn Family,
I was very saddened to hear of your loss. I know it's especially painful during the holidays, but I hope it eases your hearts to know that your Dad did not suffer; he was truly blessed with going to Heaven while he was sleeping. Many thoughts and prayers to all of you.

I sat behind Ed for 4 years at Rockhurst and always considered him a terrific guy. We corresponded for some time during college but I have not been in KC since high school so we lost contact. I understand from a mutual friend, Tom Gordon, that Ed has suffered for some time with a ravaging cancer. I appreciated Kathy Doyle's note and would imagine Ed would have handled this situation with grace and courage. My prayers are with his wife and sons. R.I.P.

Marshall Fitz

You are in my thoughts and prayers. ED as a gentleman and good friend.
