After my first wife passed from a sudden stroke in 2012, I was hesitant to call Father Jack. I didn't know how to start the conversation. He had retired to Birmingham after serving our parish in Douglas, GA in the 2003 time frame as interim. He drove the backroads from Savannah to Douglas every week - not an easy drive.
