Not sure what to say?

Loved him dearly as I tracked his career as a Trib reporter. A great friend, a true gentleman, and a skilled lawyer with the eternal pipe notwithstanding. Many stories. One, he appears before Judge Marshall in a headline case and before jury selection, Judge Marshall says "a long trial Mr. Ed, you better get your suit cleaned and pressed." As u may know, Ed was bound to that suit--a lucky omen I can only believe. A lucky omen he did not need. The Best Bill Crawford

To the Family: Life is like a mist. Its here today and gone tomorrow. The joyful memories left behind are yours to cherish. Continue to stay close and pray for each other to give comfort, along with heartfelt prayers and loving support from friends to give your hearts enough room to cope with your loss. (Psalms 119:32)

Ed was instrumental in training me for a successful career as an "expert witness". His training was intense, to say the least, but much appreciated. I am forever grateful for having the opportunity to work with him on several occasions and will miss him.

We were lucky enough to have met Ed and spend some time with him, Ed was truly a gentleman and a fun person. I know god will embrace him. We offer our very best to the family and our sympathies to all the family. We will always have a warm place in our hearts for Ed and will keep him in our prayers. Ed was a true gentleman from the first time I met him in the 70's. I was a court reporter in the U.S. District Court in Chicago and worked with his longtime close friend, Judge Prentice Marshall. I had the pleasure of working with him over the next several decades, met his wife Helen and Elizabeth along the way, and he always had a nice engaging way about him whenever and wherever we met. It was always interesting to see him at work in a courtroom working with juries and always respectful...

Remembering his kindness and loved his stories. He and Helen always welcomed their childrens friends in their home. I thank you for all the great memories! My sympathies to Helen, Bob, Cathy, and Liz.
