Dear Kay, Fred, Rob and Marianne:
I was saddened to hear the news of Ed's passing and wanted to express my sincerest condolences to all of you and your families. Growing up on 21st street as your next door neighbors brings up so many wonderful memories of that kinder, gentler time and the Franklin's. I will always remember Mr. Franklin walking the neighborhood from house to house and offering his knowledge, wisdom and helpful advice to all who would listen. As families, we laughed, we...

Debbie and I extend our condolences to the Franklin family. We learned of his funeral services just yesterday from other family members. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. Ed was a great guy who had some incredible stories to tell of his life experiences. I enjoyed hunting and fishing with him during my youth. It was a pleasure talking to him recently at the Fall Corona's luncheon in Capay, California. He was certainly a person that was very bright and never had a loss for words in...

Dear family from my youth: Though lacking in my youthful wisdom, the knowledge of what a wonderful family is, from the plateau of my later life's experience, yours is one of greatness. Mr. Franklin as patriarch, and Kay as matriarch. Shortly after reading my sister, Bonny's email the thought came to me in Mr Franklin's voice: "Katherine, I will be waiting for you down at the ranch." Please accept our love and gratitude. The Machado's, 6850 21st Street, Tony, Irene, Renée, Bonny,...

Ed was one of a kind, a classic, and such a loving, gentle man. I will miss making pickled eggplant for him, eating produce from his garden and listening to all his stories. The last time I saw him we shared duck hunting stories! Ed, you had a great ride and most of all you have left an incredible legacy,,your children, grandchildren, and great-graddaughter. Rest in peace my friend and enjoy being able to work the heavenly soil all year long.
