Edward C. Geckle

Mr Geckle was my music teacher in 6th grade at Lincoln School in Lakewood Ohio. He was the best teacher I ever had. I remember he would gather us around the piano to sing songs. He created such a fun, relaxed atmosphere in that music room for all of us preteens who thought singing and music was corny. I remember calling him several years ago and telling him and he was so happy to hear how I felt about his teaching. Wish I could sing with him one more time.

You were a great teacher and a great person. You will be truly missed.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
