Not sure what to say?

I have fond memories of Ed as he was my instructor at Cooper in Cleveland. I left Cooper for C.C.A.D. after a couple years as Ed was an alumni there. His influence? ;~) He was really a great instructor and a lot of fun with a great sense of humor. A few times I had gone to his house in Cleveland to watch him paint and discuss art while he was painting. He was a great guy and really actively took an interest in teaching his students. I had emailed with him several times a few years ago and was...

I knew Ed as an artist for 50+ years. Starting back in the Cooper School of Art days in Cleveland; I always admired his paintings; especially his sensibilities for color and design. We crossed paths periodically throughout the years and I was often surprised to find out about his new and surprising involvements in art education. Several months ago I called Ed out of the blue and after that we began conversing via email, including attachments of our most most recent artwork and exchanging our...

I met Ed about nine years ago. From the very beginning we became friends, we had A LOT in common and often met up for coffee or lunch to talk business as well as life in general. He was always happy and willing to help in any way. I know he loved his dogs, they were his kids. I had the privilege to meet them in more than one occasion at his home. In 2016 I moved away from Frederick but Ed and I kept in touch via email, often checking in on each other, and sending each other jokes (especially...

Ed was a great neighbor . Enjoyed our conversation and his kindness . So very sorry to hear of his passing. He will be greeted by his furry friend, Rest in peace.

The world is a better place for having had him around, and a bit sadder for his leaving.

Ed was such a welcoming soul. Always had a kind word and a silly story. I’m sorry to hear of his passing. He will be greatly missed.

Our deepest sympathy to Gayle and the whole family on his passing,

Uncle Eddie will forever be missed. I always enjoyed his quirky personality and loved reconnecting with him recently through political cartoons. As an artist/art educator I was always so impressed that he dedicated his life to the arts and art education and am honoured to follow in his footsteps. He was a true inspiration. I will forever cherish his art pieces in my collection and can proudly say ‘my Uncle made that’. Rest easy Uncle Eddie ❤ Sending all my love to Gayle and the pups.

Having Ed in our family has always been a unique and fun filled experience. His crazy sense of humor, his funny stories and his unusual pet collections have been, throughout the years, a delight to his many nieces/grand nieces, nephews/grand nephews. He often used his amazing artistic talent to create one of a kind, often humorous, gifts - like the time he made our grandchildren look like zombies and then inserted them into a photograph of a zombie parade. When Ed turned 80, this past...
