Not sure what to say?

I am saddened to have just learned of Gen. Gudgel's passing by reference to the West Point web site.As his first aide in Viet Nam I was inspired by his adherence to the highest of Christian standards.

Ed and Dot Gudgel were an inspirational couple. I met them back in the early 90's when Ed served as the President of the West Point Society of the Space Coast. The General was my teacher, my mentor, my example, my hero, and most importantly, my friend. My life is so much the better for having had him in it. I'll try to follow his example every day. Dear Bob and Family,
Was so sorry to hear of your fathers passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My sympathies. I have many good memories of Ed.

To the children of Dot and Ed Gudgel. Your father was a mountain of a man and your entire family should all rejoice now that he has rejoined the love of his life. I had the highest respect and admiration for him. You all have a lot to be proud of. My prayers are with you.

Dear Nancy and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Sincerely,
Suzie and David Sheppard

His mate of 60+ years was everything he was with a softer edge to complete the perfect couple. They are missed but will always be part of the best memories for anyone who was...
