Hall, Edward Latham 'Ted' 52 Jan. 21, 1959 Dec. 13, 2011 Everyone who met Ted would tell you, "He is the nicest man." And it was true. Ted never said a negative word about anyone or anything. An outdoorsman, jack-of-all-trades, historian, jokester, animal-lover, husband, brother, uncle, he...

Not sure what to say?

It gives me great pleasure in saying that I loved him without being a major player in his life! He was and is an angel sent to us mortals to show what true perfection is! I can just simply close my eyes and think of Ted and it makes me smile and experience a sense of calm!

What a shock and loss! There is not much for me to add other than I am sad for his family and friends. I think Ted was from the Will Rogers school of human kind (he never met anyone he didn't like). It is and forever will be difficult for many of us to go into McCoy! David Ewing (Lake Oswego)

I just found out about Ted's passing yesterday March 21, 2012. I'm still in disbelief and wish I would have spent more time with him. He was a wonderful man to chat with because of his always upbeat attitude. I am just one of the many people that he crossed paths with in his journey of life that will remember him with fondness, Thank you Ted. Love Wade.

I had the good fortune to know Ted in college as a brother and friend. What a kind man. Great memories. Full of life and always an easy smile. I am a better man for having known him. Fair winds and following seas.

I remember ted as a caring sensitive artistic guy that was always a pleasure to be around....prayers to joan and john and family...Dante alias the" geeko"

Dear Joan, John, E.K., et al,
I am so sorry to hear about our loss. Ted was a good friend and I looked up to him as an "older brother" beginning way back in the early 70's; when he was just learning to drive. Often, on our way to McKay Creek Farm to exercise our horses, we'd have to stop at an open field so that Ted could practice his marksmanship; he'd fire a pellet rifle at a brass coin that his father would toss high in the air. Later, when Ted had his drivers license, I enjoyed...

I only knew Ted from across the counter at McCoy, but from the first time he helped me sometime back in the nineties, he treated me like an old friend. It was so very sad to go in there today to find out Ted had passed. I always meant to try to get to know him outside of just doing business......I wish I had. My condolences to his friends and family.

Dear Joan and Family
I am one of Ted's vast customer base at McCoy.
Ted was one of the first people that I met when I first moved to Portland from Seattle over sixteen years back. I was new to town, a bit out of my comfort, and Ted made me feel like I had made a good choice coming to Portland. Many times I would be harried on a project scrabbling to put together a material order to meet a time line and Ted's calm always grounded me in my business dealings with him and the rest of...

Dear Family of Ted,
I am an old friend (literally and figuratively) of Joan's. My thoughts go out to you all during this unimaginable time.
Sincerely,
Rachel (Lippert) Wilcoxen
