Edward C. Hartranft

Ed was a dear friend to me and valued member of the Waltham Mills Artists Community of which he was, and I am a part of. He saw beauty in the everyday. Even during difficult times, Ed had a kind balance about his being. And he helped me be kind even when I did not want to be.

I am so sad that he is gone. I have known Ed for 15 years and yet selfishly feel I did not know him enough. I miss his kind and observant counsel, and wish I had more time to know him.

His mind was full of energy and thoughtful design for the people that frequent the spaces he has created. It was pure pleasure to hunch over a desk with him, pencil and trace paper to see the creation take place.

He will stay alive with me every time the trace paper is unraveled from the roll.
