EDWARD F. HECK
Youngest of the Five Hecks – Founder of CDE Fasteners
Raised in Elizabeth, Eddie Heck, 73, a longtime resident of Brick, died, Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Brick Hospital, of the aftereffects of a stroke. Many of his family were with him and had been every day over the past few months. Eddie was the youngest child of funeral director, Mary Mitchell Heck and realtor, Edward Heck, Sr.
He leaves his wife, Connie (Bussacco) and son, Daniel (Tricia Coburn) and grandsons, Jackson and Maxwell, sisters Mary Lou Farmer (Greg) and Suzanne Farrell Roeben (Gary), and sister in-law, Judy Heck. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Detective Robert Heck (Judy Amato), sister Kathleen and brother-in-law, Dr. Chauncey Maher, his baby daughter, in-laws Rose and Tom Bussacco and brother-in-law, Tom Bussacco. The Hecks are a very large and close knit family and Eddie also leaves nieces and nephews: Lisa Heck, Tamara Heck O’Brien (Kerry), Christine Heck Smith (James), Tamatha Hamill Costello (Terry), Melissa Hamill Arrigo (Doug), Amy Farmer Melber (Harry), Patrick Farmer, Erin Farrell Blake (Patrick), Kelly Farrell Kahney (Doug), Emily Maher Rabin (Alex), Dr. Chauncey Maher, IV (Erin), Sean Maher, Elliot Maher and seventeen great nieces and nephews. For decades, the entire family spent many, many days in Avon-by-the-Sea.
Ed Heck created CDE Fasteners, (the letters standing for Connie, Daniel, Eddie) in 1995 and developed it into a thriving company, now headed by his son, Daniel, who has taken it worldwide. Mr. Heck was a graduate of Saint Benedict’s Prep and is still remembered by many, sixty years later, for his role of Oliver when he was a freshman! He graduated from the University of Oklahoma as a business major. Eddie was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over thirty years.
Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m., Sunday, December 15 at the Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Route 88, Brick. At 11:30 a.m., Monday, December 16 a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Peter Church, Point Pleasant Beach. Cremation will be held privately.
