Great Uncle Edward was a kind and generous man. Growing up I remember seeing him mostly in his Sgt. Uniform visiting my grandparents bakery (Pajda Bakery-Chiacgo) and friends aksing me and whispering about who this great man was. It was fascinating just to be in his company. He always had something funny to say, and mostly I remember him extending to others a part of who he was....I believe he lived a great life and set an example to many. My condolences to Joe, Carol, Diane and Greg on the loss of your father. I always felt that both your father and mother gave a great sense of community to 46th St. with their neighborhood store.

I was saddened to see the obituary for your dad in yesterday's Tribune. I recall visiting your home in the 70's and early 80's at Western and 43rd?. I saw how sad he looked at your Aunt Ann's wake, missing your mom so very much. Your dad was always very warm and welcoming to me. My sincere sympathy to you and your families at this time.
