Edward R. Janci

Edward R. Janci, 74, of Northampton, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2024 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. Born February 22, 1949 in Allentown, he was a son of the late John and Amelia (Weigl) Janci. Ed graduated from Central Catholic High School and obtained his bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. He worked at AETNA Insurance in Allentown and in the photo lab at Walmart in Whitehall for several years. Ed was an avid photographer and sold his pictures at various shows. One of his pictures was published in the Pennsylvania Magazine. He was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, Northampton.

Survivors: brothers, Gerald (Margaret), Robert; nieces, Joanne Janci, Karen (Michael) Henning, Sharon (James) Dowdy; nephew, Stephen (Elizabeth) Janci; 3 great nieces; 4 great nephews; and his pet buddy Clyde.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. in the Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call Monday from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. in the church. Interment will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton.
