Dear Stephen and Gracie,
I am so very sorry for your loss!
What a great dad and great friend to so many. I remember our yearly visits to Friendly's after the service of Tenebrae, his visits to me in the hospital before and after my heart surgery, and his involvement in the NCCJ with my dad. He will be sorely missed. Lynda Overlock Holyoke, MA

Your Dad was one of my favoriate people in the world. We worked together at the Holyoke Council On Aging. He was one of my bosses. In 1970 I ran for the Mass State Senate, your Dad helped, alas we lost. However I had a dear friend for life. Oh by the way, he married my wife and I in 1986. He must have said a ton of prayers for me..... she is still with me. I am very sorry.

Although my Dad, Arthur J. Rich, was an agnostic, he and your Dad had many interesting conversations while sitting around our kitchen table on Washington Ave. in Holyoke. When my father was in the hospital for 12 weeks before he died, your father visited every day. One day my Dad said, "Ed is still trying to convert me." I asked if he was succeeding, and he said, "No," but I like to think that there was some success.

Dear David, Gracie, Stephen & Peter and your families.
Your Dad (Mr. J) as I called him will be greatly missed. I haven't seen him in many years, but would run into him once and a while and it was always the same a big hug and how are you doing? He never forgot the people of his church. When I was growing up in the church he had a great impact on my life with his faith and kind heart.
I will always remember him as the kind, wonderful, generous of spirit man that he was.

Dear Peter and family,
Sorrow and joy come together and are equally expressed on your behalf. Sorrow for the loss of your dear father, and joy for him entering his everlasting rest in heaven. His faith in Jesus Christ has been his assurance of an eternal home where he now experiences unspeakable joy. May you be comforted by these realities.
