To us in the Irish Rd. neighborhood , Ed was the "nice" Godfather. If you had a problem or needed some help, he was always there to help. He even inspired me to make wine. His was always better: I wonder if he did that on purpose and left out a step or ingredient. He inspired my wife, Loni, and me to grow garlic. He still beat us for ribbons at the County Fair. Ed and Jean gave us starter roots of raspberries.
