Ed Was A Great Human Being whose soulful qualities, a reflection of his upbringing and religious beliefs, made Ed as we all knew him…you came to know Ed as having strong convictions, patience, tolerance and a penchant for understanding things that were around him. He was grounded, knew something about everything, was secure about himself, had a grasp of the big picture but reveled in details while enjoying the simple things in life too. I remember as a kid when he lived with us in Omaha…for...

I never missed the chance to visit with Edward on my annual visits to Bethlehem Pa. Cousins; he brought me up to date on family matters. But every topic was open to discussion. Then we would do dinner with other family members at one of the local restaurants or at someone’s house. He would tell us if he could that there are now only four Kelchner men left in the immediate family. I will miss my friend.

Ed's geneological adventures with my mother, Mary Kelchner Lindner, were always entertaining. His input will be greatly missed.

I only got to know Edward in the last 5-10 years through our mutual interest in our family geneology and his visits to my parents in Long Island. He taught me a lot about our Penna Deutsch history of emigration to the US. He was kind, warm. intelligent and always interested in what was going on in our branch of the family. I am very grateful to have gotten to know him.

How often Ed sat on our porch or at our table and we discussed and analyzed so many topics. We miss him. And we grieve with all the brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, for the loss of such a vital person. May we all cherish the many memories and good times we shared with Ed.
