Mr. Kent was a troop 345 scoutmaster when I was a boy scout 50 years ago. He had a wonderful blend of patience and discipline and was as a role model at a time when I really needed a role model.
His boundless energy and love of the outdoors made him a unique leader to many young scouts.
He shared not only his knowledge of the outdoors, but also taught us much about respect, hard work and life.

To say that he was an inspiration to all who knew him is a major understatement. He had a great love of the outdoors and he willingly shared his knowledge with all who knew him. He was a rare man and will be greatly missed by his many friends. It was my honor to have known him. Our sincerest condolences to his family.
