Edward Gerard Klein

Edward Gerard Klein, resident of Park Ridge, NJ passed away peacefully on April 20, 2017 at the age 80 from complications of a stroke. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY to Margaret and Edward Klein, Edward was the eldest of four children (Kathleen, James, and Robert). After graduating from Tolentine HS, where Edward was the Captain of the HS baseball team, he earned a degree from Fordham University in Finance. Professionally Edward became a highly-regarded Credit Expert managing over 500 clients with a responsibility of $3.5 billion in credit. Edward spent 25 years with William Iselin & Company and took on the role of Vice President, Wholesale Credit Manager; later he became Senior Vice President at CIT Group. He held a similar position for his last nine years at Heller Financial. Edward married Bernadette Zeng in 1966; they celebrated their 50th Anniversary last June. They were blessed with four children; Edward, Walter (Maylene), Denis (Mary), and Bernadette (Daniel Colonna). Ed loved to coach his son's teams and enjoyed playing golf at Old Tappan GC for many years (he aced #3 in 1997). Edward was an active parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Mercy Parish. He helped develop the OLMA schoolboard, and served as the first president. His wife, Bernadette, taught 2nd grade there for 23 years. They have 12 grandchildren whom they adore (Edward, Shannon, Walter, Nicolas, Olivia, Jameson, Genevieve, Shane, Bernadette-Grace, Andrew, Katherine, and Elizabeth). They loved their Bible Study Groups and going to dinners with close friends.
