I'm very sorry to hear of Eds passing. We knew each other in junior high, growing up in East Springfield. We were reacquainted many years later on the SPD. One of the good guys!! My condolences to his family and friends. RIP Ed

I met Eddie when we were students at A.I.C. and he joined the S.P.D. shortly after I did. Eddie was instantly liked by all. That is an under appreciated tool in police work. I replaced him one night on his regular post. No matter where I stopped, I was greeted with the same two words, "Where's Eddie?" Anyone who knew Eddie can answer that now.

My condolences to Ed Knight´s family. I had the pleasure of working with Ed over many years the SPD. Ed´s calming approach to many situations helped bring a different perspective for not only the community we had to deal with but also to the Officers involved. Rest in Peace my friend Kevin Devine retired SPD
