Reiff Funeral Home - Cascade Obituary

Edward James Kofron, 60, of Cascade, Iowa, formerly of Janesville, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 10, 2024, at his home in Cascade, Iowa.


A Remembrance Ceremony for Ed will be held at a later date.  The Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.


Ed was born on September 24, 1963, in Janesville, Iowa, son of Robert E. “Bob” and Viola Leona (Steege) Kofron.  He was a 1983 graduate of Janesville High School in Janesville, Iowa.  Ed was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army from 1983-1988.  He was united in marriage on May 28, 1988, to Pamela Pitts in Maggie Valley, North Carolina.


Ed was bigger than life.  He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, wrestling, Harleys, and his friends and family.  He would always have his words of encouragement and wisdom readily available.  Ed will be greatly missed and loved by all.


Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Pamela Kofron of Cascade; four sons, Nathan Kofron of Cedar Rapids, Nick (Liz) Kofron of Brooklyn, Dustin Kofron of Bernard, and Adam Kofron of Cascade; eight siblings, Robert M. (Mary) Kofron, Kenneth (Sara) Kofron, and Paula (Bret) Wrage all of Janesville, Susan (John) Capazolli of Woodville, TX, Deborah (Randy) Stanek of Manchester, Elizabeth Leoni of Eugene, OR, Laurie (Tony) Gors of Waterloo, and Margaret Kofron of Lebanon, OR; one sister-in-law, Diane Kofron of Janesville.


He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Joseph Kofron.

so sorry to here of Eds passing, i worked with Ed in forestry for a year , Ed and Ihad a lots of laughs , again deepest sympathy
