Mr. Kohler was an American hero. He served with Merrill's Marauders knowing that he would likely not return home alive from their mission, but he did come home. We are privileged to have him as long as we did.

He reminded me that he was there when my folks brought me home after I was born, and Uncle Chuck has been important in my life ever since. He watched over my mom and me to make sure we were OK while my dad was in the Navy, and has always 'been there', especially during the last days of his brother Bob, my dad.
