He reminded me that he was there when my folks brought me home after I was born, and Uncle Chuck has been important in my life ever since. He watched over my mom and me to make sure we were OK while my dad was in the Navy, and has always 'been there', especially during the last days of his brother Bob, my dad. Fortunately the war stories and adventures of my handsome and brave uncle will endure in interviews for articles and books, and I will always smile at the pictures of the two of us...
