Edward F. Korzun, age 67, of Toms River, formerly of Bayonne, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Jersey City, he grew up and lived most of his life in Bayonne, prior to moving to Toms River three years ago. He was the Director of Special Services for the Irvington Township Board of Education for many years. Edward graduated Bayonne High School, class of 1965. The first in his family to graduate college, he earned his Bachelor's Degree from St. Peter's College in Jersey City, and his Master's Degree in Special Education from Wagner College in Staten Island where he would go on to become an adjunct professor. Edward was a member of the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association. He was also a member of St. Dominic's Church in Brick and the Bayonne Elks. He was very involved in the Special Children Athletic Training Experience (S.C.A.T.E.) in Bayonne, a weekly program dedicated to giving special needs children the opportunity to participate in athletics. Edward was Vice President of the Lake Ridge Fishing Club in Toms River. He was passionate about his family, fishing, and photography.

Edward is survived by his wife, Janet (Domingues) Korzun; one son, David Korzun, and his wife, Courtney, of Lincroft; one daughter, Jennifer Drews, and her husband, David, of East Windsor; and 4 grandchildren, Michael, Jonathan, Christopher, and Brian.

Visiting hours are Monday, June 9, 2014, from 3-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick. A funeral mass will be offered on Tuesday at 10 am at St. Dominic's Church, Brick. Just found out about ED, one of nicest person I ever knew and a great football team mate. My condolences.

Heard the news yesterday----I remember ED as a Football teamate & a terrific guy. I was able to spend an afternoon with him last year on the golf course. Please accept my condolance on his loss. Rest in Peace in Gods arms.
