Edward W. Kratochvil

Edward W. Kratochvil, 82, of Jeannette, passed away Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at his residence. He was born March 14, 1927, in Jeannette, a son of the late Edward and Henrietta Fisher Kratochvil. Prior to his retirement, Ed was employed by the Elliott Co. of Jeannette. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Navy, and a life member of Grandview Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Florence Jones Kratochvil; and a son, Edward Kratochvil Jr. He is survived by his children, Gerald Kratochvil, Phillip Kratochvil and wife, Sharie, and Lori Guy and husband, Mark, all of Jeannette; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Kratochvil; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Anna Surrec, of Jeannette, and Rose Spahn, of Saltsburg. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette. A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Father John M. Foriska officiating. Interment will follow in Jeannette Memorial Park, Penn Township.
