Not sure what to say?

This Christmas season when my Boyfriend John and I set out to find our first Christmas tree for our new house, it ended up being more difficult than I ever thought.

We went to one small lot near our new home in Cudahy. I just had a feeling that something wasn't right. The "Tree Lot Guy" was nice and all but I just knew he had never seen a tree farm in all his life. We got back in the car to discuss our Yuletide purchase and I told John,"Not Him!".
John didn't quite...

Years ago I can remember how my mother would talk to TMJ tv and tell uncle ED to fix the picture when he was a camera man Etc.

So many great memories come to mind when I think of Uncle Ed and our summer trips to the Tree Farm. Many times we took the car ferry from Ludington, Michigan, to Milwaukee. That ferry might as well have been the Titanic and Lake Michigan the Atlantic Ocean, it was so exciting. Maybe more exciting was the part of our trip that included a short stay at Aunt Lorraine's house, which meant elephant ears were awaiting. Eventually we hit the road north for what seemed to be days (I'm really not...

When I look back at my childhood and the role Uncle Eddie played in it, I think of the many visits made to his Christmas tree lot in Cudahy, Wisconsin, on weekends each December. We would take hot soup to him and my brother Gary to help them survive the long, cold days while they sold the best looking x-mas trees in Milwaukee County!

Uncle Ed travelled to far away places and would bring a collector doll from each of the countries he visited for me and my sister Mary Jo.

I am the daughter of Kathy (Kurylo) Moenkhaus, great-neice of Eddie. My fondest memories of Uncle Eddie include the many trips to the tree farm and the never-ending searches for the perfect tree! When we moved to Iowa I was the envy of my friends every Christmas when Uncle Eddie would actually mail us our Christmas tree! Uncle Eddie and his family are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless!

I am the son of Kathy (Kurylo) Moenkhaus, which makes me the grandson of Joseph Kurylo. Ed was my great-uncle.

My memories of Uncle Ed are mostly from his latter years, when--and I mean this in the most light-hearted, respectful way--he tended to fall asleep in the middle of family events!

Truly, that was such an endearing characteristic. It always brings a smile to my face.

I also enjoyed listening to him talk about his days behind the camera at WTMJ and...

All of us growing up on "The Farm" and "The Cottage" can't help but feel influenced by Uncle Ed and the things he taught us about caring for the planet, genealogy and many other things. He is also remembered for his incredible humor.
A very smart and caring man who taught me about many things.
BTW, I'm still "The Guy" who gets dragged out to help pick out Christmas trees every year.

Sorry to here about Ed's passing. I was glad to have met him here in Grand Rapids,Mi. We both share the same name and birrthday. I believe if you are able to look up an old Catholic calender you will find that Oct. 20 was dedicated to ST. Edward the Confessor. You have our sympathy's. Ed and Julie Kurylo, Grand Rapids, Mi.

First my deepest sympathy to the Wisconsin Kurylo family. I am the youngest of Frank and Mary Kurylo's children in Grand Rapids,Michigan I remember Ed from his wonderful yearly Christmas cards, His telling us about the tree farm, We just lost our Mother on Oct 17th and understand the pain and loss in your hearts that you all are going through know.
