Not sure what to say?

Sincerest thoughts to the Doheny family and to the Drexel-Penn community. I'm grateful for the opportunity Ed offered and his mentoring at Drexel. G.Schifferdecker M.S. '95

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

In 1973, I was on academic probation at Drexel University due to a medical condition. I met with Dr. Doheny on summer break and told him I wanted to go to graduate school. Right in his office, he layed out a plan for me to finish Drexel. I became a Senior Executive in a top five oil and gas company only because of him. I´m crying as I write this for what he did for me and my family´s life. I am so sorry for your loss. The world will not be the same without him. All my love as you...

To Eddie and Michael: I was so sorry to hear the news of your Dad. I don´t know if you remember me but I was a very close friend of both your Mom and Dad. After Mom´s passing your Dad and I kept in touch by exchanging phone calls and sending Christmas cards. Your mom, Josephine Fox and myself played mah jongg together, worked together and travelled together. I have very fond memories of those days. Unfortunately Dad and I lost touch quite a few years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with...

Dear Doheny Family. I am a cousin of Ed or as I knew him "Cousin Eddie". Our grandmother, Catherine, was so proud of his service the Navy and his ever expanding education. My father, John K Burke was Ed´s mom´s younger brother along with Henry and Frank. Please accept our prayers for Cousin Eddie and the entire Doheny family. John and Mary Burke Lompoc, California

Dr. Doheny was my undergraduate geology professor at Drexel. His stories always left us hysterically laughing or with an impending sense of geologic doom (polar reversal tomorrow?). He was the reason I love rocks and actively mine them to this day. As an educator myself, I brought rocks (500 million year old dolomite) just yesterday to my 2nd grade student who asked: "How do you know all this?" Thank you Doctor Doheny for being one of the "good ones" who sought to inspire. Your passion for...
