Not sure what to say?

I was 10 years old when I first heard Bill Shaw with the Blackwood Brothers. I bought just about every album with Bill and the Blackwoods, taking many of them with me when I served in Viet Nam. There will never be another tenor like Bill Shaw.

Lunch with Bill and Wilma years ago with mutual friends was a lively and enlightening experience. To actually sing a few strains with him later that afternoon was the experience of a lifetime. My sincere condolences to the family of such a treasure, but to think of them forever reunited in Heaven, is but the greatest blessing of all...

A man blessed by the Lord with a long life who used his life to bless others. Since 1963 when I heard Bill on my father's records I have been a fan. Meeting him not in a concert but during one of his walks at the old Anderson Mall was thrill I have never forgotten. Such a kind man that will be missed in this life.

I am so sorry to learn of Bills passing. My sympathies to his family in the sad time. I will inform the Pickens reunion staff of his passing. They always loved to have him and the Pickens Family sing at the reunions. He lives on in his beautiful music. Pat Bryan Layer.

What a host of memories I have of your dad. I remember as a child and teenager going to the Greenville Memorial Auditorium for Bob Poole's all night gospel singings. What memories. Without a doubt the Blackwood Brothers were my favorite group. There would be the Blackwood Brothers, The Statesmen, The Speer Family, The Oak Ridge Boys, The Palmetto State Quartet and others. I can still remember the LP album with the Blackwood Brothers standing along side of their bus on a map of the US. ...

My husband and I enjoyed going to different places to hear Bill sing.now they are both in heaven sing together..my prayers are with you.
