Edward Lipman Obituary
Raleigh
Edward C. Lipman, 78, of Cary, NC passed away on March 23, 2014. Born August 30, 1935 in New Bern, NC to Harry Lipman and Marcia Bruckner Lipman. He graduated from New Bern High School, 1953; the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill - B.S.B.A., 1957; and New York University - MBA in Economic Theory, 1964.
He is survived by his wife, Roxanne Lorch Lipman; sons: Holt Lipman, Greg Lipman (Maggie); brothers Morton B. Lipman (Carole) and Ken Lipman (Jane); niece Caren Canady (Jeff); and nephew Alan Lipman (Lisa).
Edward was formerly Group Controller for Borg Warner Clinical and Plastics; General Manager, BWPP; Corporate Controller for Western Pacific Industries; and Vice President of Finance for Reading Industries. He was the founder of Edward C. Lipman Co. and also Oliver, Lipman And Associates, a finance company specializing in corporate mergers and acquisitions. He was a member of Temple Beth Or in Raleigh, NC; St. John's AFAM Masonic Lodge in New Bern, NC; and also Norfolk Lodge in Needham, MA.
Funeral services are being held at Temple Beth Or, 5315 Creedmoor Rd, Raleigh, on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Edward's honor to: Duke Raleigh Cancer Center, Attn: Chad Seastrunk, Director, 3401 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC 27609 or Hospice of Wake County, Attn: Foundation Office, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
