Edward B. Longmuir Jr. BORDENTOWN Edward B. Longmuir Jr., 94, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017 at the Granville Place in Burlington Township, NJ. Born in Trenton, he lived in Bordentown Township since 1959. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, stationed aboard U.S.S. Tuscaloosa (CA-37), a graduate of the US Naval Academy class of 1947, and was a veteran of the Korean War. After his military service, Ed became secretary of the Board of Education and business administrator for the Northern Burlington Regional School District. He was past president and member of the Bordentown Rotary and longtime member of the Burlington Country Club. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Edna Longmuir and his beloved wife of 53 years, Jane Butler Longmuir, he is survived by his children, Sandra Hornick and her husband Michael of Hopatcong, NJ, David Longmuir and his wife Ellen of Jacksonville, FL and Kathy Longmuir of Bordentown Township; six grandchildren, Michael Hornick III, Amanda Marcazo and her husband Eric, Jennifer Longmuir, Melissa Muir and her husband Brian, John Longmuir and Geoffrey Longmuir; and three great- grandchildren, Josiah, Jane and Josephine. A celebration of Edward's life will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, with a prayer service to be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, NJ. The burial, with military honors, will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton Township. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorial contributions be sent in Edward's name to the Disabled American Veterans, www.dav.org.
